I pondered the title of this image as it evolved. Train of thought was going in three directions, Star, Flower and Ai Brain. Of course my better half saw a flower and so it was. The rest is fairly self evident, apparently.

This is a CGI, 3D work, produced using Maya (mac) for modelling and Photoshop (mac) for creating the surface images and rendered using Mental Ray (mac). I put many hours into this work and the original framed print sold during the opening night of SALA’s exhibition titled "he Art of the Flower" held at Burra Regional Art Gallery (BRAG) during the year 2008.

Here is the first of my posts showing the work I do manipulating my photographs, beginning with fairly straightforward colour manipulation.
I love this old rusting Simca.
“Aronde” means “swallow” in Old French and it was chosen as the name for the model because Simca’s logo at that time was a stylized swallow.
Burramundi - Colourful winged fish native to the region of Burra in rural South Australia. Both solo and social creatures with an artistic bent, have been known to lend their image to the promotion of SALA in Burra.

Found this old tin advertising sign the other day and couldn't resist using it as a jumping off point for some new work. I am interested in producing a range of cards to sell around Burra and like the idea of merging old aesthetics with my computer generated work.

Constructed using Photoshop (mac) and PS3 Theme Builder (win). The backdrop provided with the theme is also completely my own work, which was created using Oxidiser (mac) and Photoshop (mac).
