Sweetness in Blue was originally created for Mac OS X Leopard and is compatible with Snow Leopard as well. I created this as I dislike the Apple folder set. Although on the really small size theirs is clearer than mine as I didn’t make a special small size.

Modelled and rendered in Maya using image and vector data from Photoshop.

Installation:

Note: These descriptions and file names are all related to Snow Leopard (tested with 10.5.6.1). This installation requires you to enter some of the system directories and change out files. This process includes the use of an Administration Password and Alteration of Permission. If you don’t know what to do with the information bellow I suggest that you learn more before proceeding! Follow these instruction at your own risk. Backup before you perform this and I recommend that you make localised backups of the files you are replacing so you can change them back later if you wish or need to.

Part 1 – Finder:

1. Go to the following directory: /System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/Resources
2. You will have to change the permissions of that directory. (I recommend you add your own user and switch it to “Read & Write”.)
3. I like to do a local back-up of the files I’m altering by selecting them and using the contextual menu to ZIP them. Name the archive with something like “BACKUP”.
4. Copy the Two YELLOW files into that directory.
5. I recommend you remove your “User Name” form the Sharing & Permissions section before moving on.

Part 2 – CoreTypes

1. Go to the following directory: /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources
2. You will have to change the permissions of that directory. (I recommend you add your own user and switch it to “Read & Write”.)
3. I like to do a local back-up of the files I’m altering by selecting them and using the contextual menu to ZIP them. Name the archive with something like “BACKUP”.
4. Copy the Twenty BLUE files into that directory.
5. I recommend you remove your “User Name” form the Sharing & Permissions section before moving on.

Note: I haven’t created a folder for “ServerApplicationsFolderIcon”. Presumably because it wasn’t available at the time I created this set. Either way I haven’t got around to it. If you want it just get in touch with me and I’ll get onto it.

Be careful! Cheers,.
